The Foster Care – the Difference is You campaign has been launched today to encourage potential carers to take the next steps to become a Foster Carer.
Right now, there are many Tasmanian children in need of foster care, and we know there are Tasmanians in our community who could be the critical difference in a Tasmanian child’s life.
The campaign has been developed in collaboration with Foster Care Providers across Tasmania, who offer safe placements for children or young people unable to live with their own families.
A new dedicated Foster Care webpage (www.fostercare.tas.gov.au) is now live, with information about becoming a Foster Carer, including stories from Tasmanian Foster Carers, frequently asked questions and links to Foster Care Providers’ websites.
This is the first phase of the campaign to raise awareness of the urgent need for Foster Carers in Tasmania, with further phases commencing in early 2024 to include media, videos, radio and wider advertising.
We acknowledge and thank all current Foster Carers in Tasmania who are such a dedicated community that make a difference in children’s lives every day.
