We want all our students to have bright lives and positive futures and it’s always fantastic to see and hear what former students do and achieve once they leave school.
During her time as the Crown Princess, Mary has been able to raise public awareness across a number of humanitarian and social issues. We hope that the richness of her education and experiences at school helped play a part in this.
On behalf of her former schools in Tasmania, we congratulate Crown Princess Mary on being the world’s first Australian-born European Queen and wish her all the best in her new role.
For any media enquiries on this matter, please use the above statement which can be attributed to a Department for Education, Children and Young People spokesperson. There is also a media release from the Acting Premier of Tasmania.
Please note that we are unfortunately unable to accommodate interview requests of school staff and filming at the schools attended by Princess Mary, due to school holidays.
Please contact communications@decyp.tas.gov.au if required, rather than schools directly.
