For a large number of schools, students, and families there will be an extra focus on reading over the next couple of months following the launch of the Premier’s Reading Challenge today.

The Premier, Hon Jeremy Rockliff MP, along with one of our 2024 Reading Champions, Mr John X, joined students from Lindisfarne Primary School to read children’s classic story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.” Spoiler alert: They made it through the swishy-swashy grass and the squelchy mud without a scratch!

With Kindergarten and Years 11 and 12 students joining this year, we have a record number of schools and students on board for the 2024 PRC. 157 Schools and families, and 29,450 students!

Fostering a love of reading is crucial for children, and we must do everything we can to encourage this habit. The challenge emphasizes the importance of reading for children and motivates families to support reading at home.

Good luck to all our participants.
