The new Larapi* Child and Family Learning Centre (CFLC) in Waratah Wynyard has officially opened, providing a safe and welcoming space for our youngest children and their families and carers.
Like all of our wonderful centres, Larapi CFLC has been community-led from the beginning by a Local Enabling Group made up of local community members.
Larapi provides wrap around services and support for families with children aged birth to five years, and expectant parents, where they can access quality education, health, support and outreach services.
Sessions such as playgroups, oral language development programs, parent workshops and early intervention referrals give kids a head start to learn and grow through play.
The centre is already living true to its vision – Our community, celebrating all children and families, playing, learning and growing together – with an average of 50 people participating each day since Larapi opened in late September 2023.
Families are excited about having a place to connect, referring to the space as homely and inviting with a range of quality early learning opportunities available, both indoors and outdoors.
*Larapi (pronounced lah-rah-pee) means Flowerdale River in Tasmanian Aboriginal palawa kani.
