Homes Tasmania provides housing products and funds services for Tasmanians in housing need. The safety and wellbeing of unaccompanied young people, including those on a care and protection or other statutory orders, are a priority for Homes Tasmania.
We work with Homes Tasmania to maximise opportunities for unaccompanied children and young people to be safely housed.
The SLA details how Homes Tasmania and DECYP work together to provide housing, accommodation and support for unaccompanied young people who are on a care and protection or other statutory order. Homes Tasmania and DECYP use a Workplan to develop and progress agreed actions under the SLA. The Work Plan is regularly updated and guides the combined effort of both agencies. It is a structured and planned way both agencies work together to deliver better outcomes for children and young people.
