Situated just minutes from Hobart’s CBD, Rose Bay High School provides a large and diverse secondary learning environment for students on the Eastern Shore. Overlooking the Derwent River and kunanyi / Mount Wellington, the school supports students from Years 7 to 12 and draws families from a wide range of surrounding suburbs and feeder primary schools.

Guided by its motto, “The Place To Be: Educational Excellence For All,” Rose Bay High School offers a broad and balanced curriculum designed to support academic achievement, personal development and future pathways. Teachers work in collaborative teams to deliver high-quality learning programs that promote engagement, positive relationships and consistent teaching practice.

Students access a wide range of learning areas, including English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Technologies, Creative and Performing Arts, Health and Physical Education and vocational learning opportunities. The middle years program emphasises strong foundations and exploration, while senior secondary learning is delivered through a personalised approach that supports students to achieve literacy, numeracy and ICT standards and work toward their Tasmanian Certificate of Education through blended academic and industry-linked pathways.

Rose Bay High School places strong emphasis on wellbeing, inclusion and student voice, supporting learners to develop resilience, respect and lifelong learning skills.
